A Rustic Wedding Full of Charm and Heart

There’s something timeless about a true rustic country wedding, especially when it’s filled with heartfelt details, a whole lot of love, and a couple that rolls with the unexpected. That’s exactly the story of Rachael & Wesley’s big day, held right here at The Barn at Cedar Grove.

Nestled between Columbia and Greensburg in South Central Kentucky, our peaceful barn venue set the scene for a celebration that felt warm, laid-back, and entirely their own. If you’re dreaming of a rustic barn wedding in Kentucky, their story is one worth seeing.

Their Love Story

Rachael and Wesley began dating in 2017, and Rachael said she knew early on that he was “the one.” In 2019, Wesley proposed beside a quiet creek behind the home where they now live as husband and wife.

After following us on Instagram, Rachael came to tour The Barn at Cedar Grove and knew instantly this was the perfect place to say “I do.” Like many 2020 couples, they had to navigate pandemic curveballs. Originally set for May, their wedding was postponed to July and became an intimate, joyful summer celebration filled with creativity, resilience, and love.

Thoughtful Details and a Vision Come to Life

From the beginning, Rachael envisioned a true country wedding, cowboy boots, gingham shirts, and all. She and Wesley brought that vision to life beautifully, with navy gingham on the groomsmen, delicate summer florals, and handpicked touches of personality throughout.

Their adorable toddler attendants wore jeans, suspenders, and matching shirts, just one of the many sweet moments that made their day feel completely authentic to them. With scenic views, weathered wood, and wide-open Kentucky skies, The Barn at Cedar Grove offered the perfect backdrop.

Guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of laughter, games, and even a round of giant Jenga, making the day feel more like a joyful backyard gathering than a formal event.

In The Bride's Words

In Rachael’s own words:

"When growing up, I always had a picture in my mind of what I wanted my wedding to look like when I met the man of my dreams. I knew I wanted to be married at a barn and I wanted everyone in the wedding party to be in boots.

After going on our first few dates in 2017, I knew Wesley was the one! In July 2019, Wesley proposed by a creek behind the house we live in now as a married couple! We immediately started planning for the wedding and I had seen one place I wanted to visit on Instagram, The Barn at Cedar Grove.

As soon as we drove up to the barn, I knew this was the perfect place to say our "I do's". Not only is the place beautiful, but Amy, Missy, Sandy and the rest of the barn staff were so helpful and helped make the whole planning process so easy and fun (even during a pandemic)! Wesley and I are so happy to have been married at such a beautiful, perfect venue."

A Wedding Day Worth the Wait

Although their journey to the altar didn’t go exactly as planned, Rachael and Wesley’s wedding day was filled with warmth, gratitude, and all the beauty of a summer evening in Kentucky. It was a true celebration of love, imperfect, authentic, and unforgettable.

From the custom details to the wide smiles, every moment reminded us why we love doing what we do here at The Barn at Cedar Grove. We were honored to be a part of their story.
