There’s something so special about a true rustic country wedding—especially when it’s filled with personal touches, a whole lot of love, and a couple that’s willing to roll with the unexpected. That’s exactly the story of Rachael & Wesley’s big day, held right here at The Barn at Cedar Grove.
Like many 2020 couples, Rachael & Wesley navigated pandemic curveballs. Originally set for May, they postponed to July and hosted an intimate celebration filled with laughter, games (including a round of giant Jenga!), and country charm.
From the start, Rachael envisioned a barn wedding with cowboy boots, gingham, and a relaxed country vibe. She and Wesley made that dream real with navy gingham shirts for the groomsmen, delicate florals, and touches of personality throughout.
The Barn at Cedar Grove provided the perfect backdrop: scenic views, weathered wood, wide-open outdoor spaces, and the kind of natural light that just makes everything glow. Even their adorable toddler attendants in jeans, suspenders, and matching shirts fit right into the day’s charm.
Rachael & Wesley began dating in 2017. Rachael said she knew right away he was the one. In 2019, Wesley proposed by a creek behind what would become their married home. After following us on Instagram, Rachael visited The Barn at Cedar Grove and instantly knew this was the perfect venue to say “I do.”
We were honored to help bring their vision to life—pandemic and all.
In Rachael’s own words:
"When growing up, I always had a picture in my mind of what I wanted my wedding to look like when I met the man of my dreams. I knew I wanted to be married at a barn and I wanted everyone in the wedding party to be in boots. After going on our first few dates in 2017, I knew Wesley was the one! In July 2019, Wesley proposed by a creek behind the house we live in now as a married couple! We immediately started planning for the wedding and I had seen one place I wanted to visit on Instagram, The Barn at Cedar Grove. As soon as we drove up to the barn, I knew this was the perfect place to say our "I do's". Not only is the place beautiful, but Amy, Missy, Sandy and the rest of the barn staff were so helpful and helped make the whole planning process so easy and fun (even during a pandemic)! Wesley and I are so happy to have been married at such a beautiful, perfect venue."
Even though their path to the altar looked different than planned, Rachael & Wesley’s wedding day was filled with warmth, gratitude, and the joy of starting their next chapter. It’s a reminder that no matter what comes your way, love can still shine bright.
From all of us at The Barn at Cedar Grove, we’re grateful to have been a part of their day and wish them a lifetime of love, laughter, and wide-open country skies.
