Hannah & Michael’s Kentucky Wedding at The Barn at Cedar Grove

A Perfect Halfway Point

When Hannah and Michael began planning their wedding, they needed a spot that felt like the middle ground for both of their families. Hannah’s family traveled from South Carolina, while Michael’s came from Missouri. Nestled between Greensburg and Columbia, The Barn at Cedar Grove offered the perfect location to bring everyone together for a true Kentucky destination wedding.

Why They Chose The Barn

Hannah looked at several venues before deciding, but The Barn at Cedar Grove stood out for its thoughtful design and welcoming feel. As she shared, “What sold us on your venue was the seclusion of it like we talked about. You can tell there was clear intention behind the set up of the venue. Where the bridal cabin is and the groom’s cabin, hiding the parking lot, and you had the best getting-ready areas of all the places we saw. Also, your professionalism and willingness to take your time and show us each part of the venue.”

That sense of seclusion and care was exactly what they were searching for.

Woodland Ceremony

Hannah & Michael exchanged vows in a woodland ceremony surrounded by the natural beauty of our Kentucky countryside. Guests were welcomed down the aisle lined with black lanterns filled with flowers, hanging from shepherd’s hooks. At the altar, a hexagon backdrop framed the couple, creating a stunning focal point against the wooded setting. It was both rustic and refined, which was the perfect reflection of their style.

Personal Touches

This wedding was full of charming, memorable details that showed their personalities. Michael hauled in their antique car, lovingly called “Betty”, and it became a special part of the day. From photos to their sparkler exit, Betty was a centerpiece that tied together history and romance.

Inside the barn, guests found a kid’s table stocked with crayons, a sweet gesture that kept the little ones entertained. Even Brooks, their DJ, joined in the fun by playing songs just for the kids. Yes, even Baby Shark! Hannah & Michael also had the cutest flower girls and a ring security duo who stole the show as they came down the aisle.

Reception Highlights

Sweets & Eats, Sondra Keltner, wowed guests with a beautiful charcuterie display for cocktail hour, followed by a delicious meal to celebrate the night. For drinks, Mixers Bartending served cocktails named after the couple’s dogs, a playful touch that had everyone smiling.

One of the most touching moments came when Michael’s grandfather, who was wheelchair-bound, joined in on the dancing. His joy was contagious, and it reminded everyone that weddings are about celebrating together across generations.

Guests also left their mark on a barrel head guestbook, a keepsake Hannah & Michael can treasure forever.

The Sweetest Review

Hannah's mother sent the sweetest review and we just have to share:

Just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude to you and your staff on the amazing day you provided for Hannah and Michael. They were beyond happy with everything you and your team provided. When I ask Hannah about the day she responded “I can’t think of one thing I would have changed.”  That’s how you know you were successful!!  The decor was just what she asked for.  The food was well beyond our expectation and the cake was probably the best wedding cake I have ever eaten.  The availability of house rentals so close the venue was also so very helpful for destination weddings.  I wish you all the luck with the rest of your busy fall and winter. Much appreciation, Phyllis, mother of the bride.
