Megan & Hunter’s sweet summer farm wedding in South-Central Kentucky was originally planned for April. Like many couples in 2020, COVID-19 restrictions forced a change of plans. That year reminded all of us how important it is to stay flexible. Thankfully, with our peaceful outdoor setting and fresh air, The Barn at Cedar Grove was able to resume weddings sooner than many other venues.
I asked Megan to share her experience in her own words. Here’s what she had to say:
"Here's a little snippet on our COVID journey and the big day! We cannot thank you guys enough for everything you did! The Barn at Cedar Grove will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our original wedding date was supposed to be April 25, 2020, but COVID had other plans. We changed the date to July 18, 2020, and it was beyond perfect. We had to make a few adjustments, but hey, we still got a beautiful wedding!
One of my favorite things was that I rode to the aisle in my grandpa's old car. Unfortunately, he passed away years ago, but we still had that little piece of him with us on our big day. I also love that we included our fur babies throughout the wedding decor as well!
Past all the details and stressful work that a wedding (especially during a pandemic) brings about, it was a day filled with LOVE. I look back on that day with a full heart and I hope to share our special memories with others!
We could not have done it without Amy and her staff! They were more than willing to help make arrangements and still make it the most perfect day. Everything was magical, from the little houses our bridal party got ready in to the little cottage on the lake we rented for the wedding night!
This team had it all covered, even when the ladies had to take the reins to coordinate our ceremony after our coordinator had to cancel last minute. They helped put this COVID bride's nerves at ease! I cannot say enough good things about this place and we were so blessed to have chosen The Barn at Cedar Grove."
